Show Notes
Today’s podcast sees Andy and Cath joined by Robert Steel (the Director at Glyndley Manor). Robert shares his own personal journey out of depression and the restoration and hope that God brought to his life. We hope today's episode will encourage you in your own walk – whether you struggle with depression personally, know a friend who struggles, or are simply aware of the big issue it is in today’s society. What a relief that nothing and no-one is too damaged or too broken for God to restore!

Like a boat anchored in stormy weather - safe even if a little battered around by waves. This is one of the illustrations Andy and Cath use today to chat about being a person of peace. A person of peace within ourselves, in our walk with God and oozing peace to others. Join them as they chat and pray for the Holy Spirit to afresh fill us with a peace that is beyond understanding regardless of our circumstances.
Hands up anyone who doesn’t have control issues! There will be some in denial but most of us are aware that as humans we all lean towards control as a way to keep ourselves safe and for life to go the way we think is best. Life without any control wouldn’t be good so how do we find the balance? Andy and Cath chat through the why’s and what’s of control and ponder God’s desire that we know more of His heart and steadfastness.
The Holy Spirit in us is powerful! It’s a fact. It’s in the Bible. Do we live in the reality of that power in the day to day of our lives? Do we make room for His Spirit to move and bring real change? These are the questions Andy and Cath bounce around between themselves today on the podcast. Join them as they ponder, dig and seek Him on today’s episode.
How do we cultivate a deeper hunger for God and make more space for Him in every area of our lives? How do we live a life empowered by His Spirit and rooted in His presence? Andy and Cath have a good old chat about it and we are invited to join them as they wrestle it through.
At one end of the spectrum we have the gift of discernment - something precious from God - on the other end, sadly there can be an ease and even habit of criticising people. We’d like to think it is constructive criticism, but is it? Andy and Cath unpack the topic on this episode. Maybe rather than constructive criticism we are simply too opinionated on other people, focused on the negatives, bored or even jealous? It’s a challenging chat that hopefully will lead us all to a prayer of “Father teach me to love like you do”.
