In this episode of The Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim examines the quest for freedom and what it means to embark on that journey. He opens the discussion with a familiar story about a bishop in the deli. It was at this moment when Jim first realized how deeply people can become attached to a role or narrative. It showed him how human experiences are often confused with cosmic truth, causing people to adopt roles instead of stepping into their autonomy.
Jim explains that real freedom cannot exist inside the container of the 3D ego, adding that doing so only forces you to inherit all the 3D ego’s limitations. Instead, he suggests two simple steps to determine your attachments. The first requires you to identify your fears by naming your three greatest obstacles. The second is to determine what you’re fighting to defend. The exercise reveals how attached you can be to your human identity. Its purpose is to help listeners step into their authenticity as a spiritual being. Along the way, Jim recounts his studies with the being Kyron and shares the daily practice he uses to shift his mindset from being a body trying to fix its circumstances to seeing himself as divine consciousness.
For anyone ready to move beyond fixing their life and into truly knowing who they are, this episode offers a clear and challenging place to begin.

Listen, apply, and enjoy!
Transformational Takeaway
You are not the container you live in, and you are not the story you were taught. Every fear you carry and everything you fight to defend is simply evidence of how attached you are to a role that was never your truth. Real freedom comes from stepping back from the role and remembering that you are the consciousness witnessing it. The moment you stop trying to fix the container and begin to understand yourself as a soul, the very limitations you believed were permanent will start to fall away.

Are You A Turkey, Otter, Badger, Skunk, or Something Else? In all my time doing the podcast I’m surprised that I’ve never talked in depth about “Animal Medicine.” So, here you go. I was introduced to “Animal Medicine” two decades ago and I have consistently used it over the years for healing and guidance. Many of the students in my transformational program initially had not heard of it and when they start using it they become surprised at the true guidance it can help us within life.
Most people believe they are the sole architects of their decisions. But in truth, many factors influence our choices. Whether it’s career-related or a new relationship, outside elements have a tendency to sway our thinking. In this episode, Jim breaks down a belief he calls the brainwashed script. He explains that most people follow pre-programmed prompts without even realizing it. Even when a decision feels spontaneous, he says it can be traced to early childhood moments. Using an early ‘90s children’s Tylenol commercial as an example, he explains that we are often persuaded to do something based on an idea planted in the subconscious mind. In these situations, analytical thinking goes out the window, and a decision is made solely based upon the seed planted.
Yes, you read the headline correctly. Fear is the cure for fear. Why? Because you’ll not go through fear until you go through your fear, hence, fear is the cure for itself. I could spend hours writing fancy copy explaining this episode but it’s as simple as this: Go through your fear or you’ll never go through your fear and when you go through your fear your higher essence and Spirit will be free to soar.
In this episode, Jim tackles the misconception that learning more is the key to transforming life. Yes, knowledge is powerful. But context is everything. Jim uses common vices, like smoking and dieting, to show that knowing something is wrong isn’t enough to make you change. He also explains why piling on more information only confuses you, and uses his experiences as an example.
This episode was inspired by a current student of mine. Essentially, he wrote me a note and was sharing how he’s feeling hopeless about the state of the world, the future of humanity, and the planet. I can definitely understand his fears; however, from my perspective, I’m not hopeless at all. Actually, I’m quite optimistic about the future.
