Manchester City secures a decisive 5-1 victory against AEK Athens in the Champions League, showcasing a strong performance despite significant squad rotation. Manager Enzo Maresca made seven changes from the previous match, yet the team demonstrated depth and resilience, with standout performances from debutants Floyd Samba and Alan. Samba, who started as a center-forward, impressed with his energy and ability to contribute to the team's attacking play, a bold move that reflects Maresca's confidence in youth players.

Phil Foden shines as the Man of the Match, scoring a hat-trick and displaying a newfound confidence. His resurgence is attributed to Maresca's supportive approach, emphasizing the importance of Foden's role within the squad. Ryan Cherky also makes an impact, scoring and showcasing his flair, although Maresca encourages him to balance creativity with tactical discipline.
