'WHY Won't You Answer The Question?!' Graham & Ramaswamy Scandals + Liz Truss Interview

Piers Morgan Uncensored

Show Notes

Two major political controversies have erupted in the United States ahead of next week’s crucial midterm elections, raising questions about campaign tactics, political hypocrisy and the boundaries of public scrutiny.

Republican candidate for Ohio governor Vivek Ramaswamy is facing criticism over an attack ad featuring an interview with his opponent Amy Acton’s estranged mother. The advert has sparked controversy over the circumstances surrounding their estrangement and the family’s history. Rather than backing down, Ramaswamy has doubled down on the campaign - reportedly committing millions of dollars to the ad.

Meanwhile, The Young Turks have come under fire after releasing a documentary examining the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham’s alleged private life. The programme features claims from male escorts, including one who alleges he was 17 at the time of an encounter. The allegations have prompted accusations of hypocrisy, with critics questioning whether the same scrutiny would be applied to a liberal politician. Graham’s sister, Darline, is also fighting to win his former Senate seat in South Carolina.

Piers Morgan is joined by a panel to discuss all of this and more with host & executive producer of The Young Turks, Ana Kasparian, founder & CEO of The Young Turks, Cenk Uygur, Republican Senate candidate of New Jersey, Justin Murphy, host of the Liz Wheeler Show, Liz Wheeler, and Glenn Greenwald, Host of System Update.

Then, Piers is joined by former British Prime Minister Liz Truss, whose 49-day premiership in 2022 was marked by market turmoil, rising interest rates and political upheaval. Her brief time in Downing Street became infamous, with the now-iconic lettuce comparison symbolising the speed of her downfall.

Since leaving office, Truss has increasingly aligned herself with MAGA Republicans in the United States and blamed the so-called “deep state” for her political demise. Now, with her new book, Bank Job, she seeks to expand on those claims.

Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest point of either presidency, with barely 31 per cent of Americans believing he is doing a good job. With the US midterm elections just 13 days away, the president is facing mounting political pressure as wars in Ukraine and Iran threaten to define his administration. But his diplomatic mission has raised eyebrows after Witkoff publicly praised Putin as a humanitarian, while Trump has once again placed the burden of ending the Ukraine war on Zelensky rather than the Russian leader who launched it. Meanwhile, Trump is blaming Ukraine for the cost of American support, as voters grow increasingly frustrated with high fuel prices and continued conflict. Yet the pressure on energy prices is also tied to the war involving Iran, where renewed US attacks on Tehran could follow the midterm elections. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised Trump’s leadership and declared that the two countries have a job to finish, fuelling concerns that the conflict could soon escalate again. As Trump attempts to contain the political fallout from two major wars, a fragile end to the fighting in Ukraine may be approaching. But the conflict with Iran could be entering a far more dangerous phase. Piers Morgan is joined by Alastair Campbell plus Trita Parsi, executive vice president of the Quincy Institute; Jim Hanson, chief strategist at the Middle East Forum; and Will Chamberlain, host of Counterweight. Plus, General Keith Kellogg, former US special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, joins the show to discuss the prospects for peace in Ukraine and the growing threat of renewed conflict with Iran.

The relationship between Washington and Kyiv is entering increasingly uncertain territory, as Donald Trump’s approach to Russia raises fresh questions about the future of the war in Ukraine. In an exclusive interview with Piers Morgan last week, President Zelensky offered a stark assessment of America’s shifting position, warning that his country risks losing the support of its most important ally.
