Show Notes
We have made it! Six years in the making and still going strong. With a steadily increasing audience of - wait for it - at least ten listeners. When they can't get to sleep or have nothing else to do. Or - gosh - want to learn something. Like what's Usenet. And why Linux has been so important (yes, it all will be revealed in this episode!). Including a crash course on operating system design (including the operating system war) and CPU design history. Never mind how humorous works. So wars or not, you have an hour to spare, can't get to sleep or want to learn something, never mind want to know why our beloved operating system conquered the world and how humor works and much, much more, you certainly don't want to miss this episode! (Ok, marketing made us do it - before Martin fired them once again). Links

More from Linux Inlaws
This episode is all about music. And what FLOSS has to do with this. So if you're interested in music (but then who isn't) and how FLOSS can help you there, this is the episode you don't want to shy away from. Plus more shocking revelations about the point in time when Martin first became a father. All those decades ago (and maybe even more :-). So if you are interest in this type of unveiling this is certainly an episode you don't want to miss. At all! Links
This episode hosts Michael Neuendorf from Gonicus, a company providing FLOSS solutions. So what? you may rightly ask. But wait - this is not just one of these blatant marketing stunts the Inlaws try to avoid (unless there's significant money involved :-). But rather another showcase of innovative FLOSS solutions at play for more than twenty years, a voice-over-IP (VoIP) with out-of-the-box Jitsi and Matrix integration being one of these solutions. Sounds interesting? Then don't miss this episode! Links
The subject of this episode is something that everybody does but only few talk about: elections. Well, not quite. :-) The subject is actually adult entertainment, also commonly known as "porn" (short for pornography). Such a delicate subject is, of course, treated with the required utmost sobriety and earnestness which the Inlaws are known for (yeah, right!). So if you have ever wondered but were too afraid to ask about the finer aspects of the FLOSS in the adult entertainment business, this is the show you don't want to miss. Plus: bonus content on the use of FLOSS in the general movie business (the focus groups insisted that this has to be part of the episode due to "political correctness" and other concepts hard to comprehend:-). And of course this episode would not be complete without the acknowledgment and celebration of Martin's favourite subject: Amish Porn Websites. So don't miss this episode! Links
In this episode a high-speed queuing system is the center of the discussion. No, we didn't manage to unearth the corpse of Kafka or some other long-forgotten queuing system but focus on something very fast called LavinMQ written in - wait for it - Crystal. Crystal you may ask? Aren's decent queueing systems written in Java (a joke, I know :-), Erlang or C? And does the world and dog have not enough queueing systems already? All mysteries will be revealed, so don't miss this show! Links
This episode is all about SFSCon, one of those hidden FLOSS conference jewels located in northern Italy, in a German-speaking enclave known as South Tyrol. Simon Phipps of OSI-fame and Patrick Ohnewein will give you (and us) the lowdown on this long-standing and popular FLOSS format. Links
