Directed by John G. Avildsen (The Karate Kid, Save the Tiger) and written by Sylvester Stallone, Rocky stars Stallone as Rocky Balboa (First Blood, Cop Land), Talia Shire as Adrian Pennino (The Godfather, Rad), Carl Weathers as Apollo Creed (Predator, The Mandalorian), Burgess Meredith as Mickey Goldmill (Batman, Clash of the Titans), and Burt Young as Paulie Pennino (Chinatown, Once Upon a Time in America).

After the reaction, Jackie & Aaron discuss Stallone’s heartfelt performance, Rocky and Adrian’s unconventional romance, Bill Conti’s unforgettable “Gonna Fly Now” score, the movie’s grounded Philadelphia atmosphere, and why this small underdog drama became a Best Picture winner and launched the Rocky and Creed franchise.
