273 - Brad Tolinski and Chris Gill (Blow by Blow - the Jeff Beck Story)

In episode 273 of “Have Guitar Will Travel”, presented by Vintage Guitar Magazine, host James Patrick Regan speaks with Brad Tolinski and Chris Gill writers of the book “Blow By Blow - the Jeff Beck Story” and both guitarists in their own right. The two share stories that are in the book such as Jimmy Page’s role in Jeff’s career. The two talk about the collaborations Jeff did late in his career with Rod Stewart and Brian Wilson and early in his career with Elton John and they take is through what became of Jeff’s gear. Chris describes meeting Jeff for the first time at his home and having to scale the wall to get in to speak with him and they talk about his love interest in the states on his early tours, Mary Hughes a star of ‘60’s B movies. Chris discusses Jeff’s car collection and his relationship with hot rod builder Roy Brizio and they also talk about Jeff’s hearing loss. Finally Brad and Chris take us through their own personal guitar and amp collections.
