Power, Lies and Epstein: The Mandelson appointment that backfired

Christopher Hope is joined by GB News Chief Political Correspondent Katherine Forster and Deputy Political Editor Tom Harwood to examine the growing political controversy surrounding Peter Mandelson and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The trio discuss the background to Mandelson’s appointment, his long-standing influence within the Labour Party, and the renewed scrutiny of his past association with Jeffrey Epstein following the release of court documents and media reporting.

The panel assesses what Keir Starmer knew during the vetting process, how the issue has escalated in Parliament, and why it has become one of the most challenging weeks of the Prime Minister's premiership.

They also look at the wider implications for government credibility, Labour Party unity, and the Prime Minister’s authority, drawing comparisons with past political crises and considering what may come next as further information is expected to be released.
