Tony G is a master at getting under his opponents’ skin and sending them on mega tilt. During a huge high-stakes cash game at the Triton Poker Montenegro Series, Tony G flops trips against Dan Cates’ pocket aces. However, can Tony G talk his way to stack the professional poker player and send him on his bike?

When you have an overpair to the board on the flop, your decision to play it aggressively or passively should depend on how high your overpair is. Generally, the lower your overpair is, the more inclined you should be to play aggressively, as it is less likely to remain an overpair by the river and requires more protection.

Antanas Guoga or, more commonly known as Tony G is a Lithuanian-Australian businessman and also a part-time professional poker player. Tony G has played on many live poker streams throughout the years such as: Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, The Big Game, and many more. Part of what makes the Triton Series so special is that it’s open to a wide range of poker players – not just a select few. They envisioned Triton as a series of poker events providing excellent entertainment value for audiences passionate about poker. Some of the most famous poker players to have appeared at Triton events have been Phil Ivey ‘RaiseOnce’, Tom Dwan ‘Durrr’, Patrick Antonius ‘The Finn’, Michael Addamo ‘imluckbox’, Chris Brewer, Jason Koon ‘JAKoon1985’, Tony G, Dan Cates ‘Jungleman’, Doug Polk ‘WCGRider’, Stephen Chidwick ‘stevie444’, Linus Loeliger ‘LLinusLLove’, Isaac Haxton ‘philivey2694’, Mikita Badziakouski ‘fish2013’, Timofey Kuznetsov ‘Trueteller’ and many more.

The 2019 Triton Montenegro Series was held at the Maestral Resort and Casino, Montenegro from May 5 – 17 in 2019. It had 10 different poker tournaments with buy-ins from €11,000 up to €110,000 in No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and Short-Deck.

Preflop: With the €8,000 straddle on, Dan Cates raises to €20,000 from the hijack with pocket aces. The cutoff, button and small blind fold but Tony G calls from the big blind with 54 of clubs as the two of them head to the flop.

Flop – 8h 4h 4d: Tony G flops trips and a backdoor straight draw with his suited connector. He decides to donk lead out for €30,000 which Cates calls holding an overpair to the board with his pocket rockets.

Turn – Js: The J of spades on the turn doesn’t change anything and Tony G leads out again with three fours this time for €70,000. Cates calls with his American Airlines as they head to the river.

River – 3d: The front door flush draw misses on the 3 of diamonds river and Tony G still holds the best hand with three-of-a-kind. He shoves for a pot-sized bet of €251,000. Will Jungleman be sent on his bike and pay off Tony G or will he manage to get away from the best starting hand in poker? Stay tuned to the end of this poker video to find out.
