How the Magnificent Temple of Solomon Was Built _ The Daily Life of the Stonemasons and Builders
Unraveling the ScripturesShow Notes
King Solomon's Temple was built over seven years by a vast workforce. The Bible records 80,000 stonecutters quarrying limestone in the mountains, 70,000 laborers carrying burdens, and 3,300 overseers directing the work. The stones were dressed at the quarry to exact measurements, so no hammer or iron tool was heard at the building site. Phoenician craftsmen from Tyre, sent by King Hiram, worked alongside forced laborers conscripted from conquered peoples. Every block was precut, every beam of cedar fitted, until the house of God stood silent and complete.
