Old Time Radio Classics

Show Notes

Academy Award Theater presents “Lost Horizon,” originally broadcast November 27, 1946 (episode 36). Ronald Colman reprises his celebrated role as British Consul Conway in this adaptation ultimately drawn from James Hilton’s novel.

When Conway, Vice-Consul Mallinson, and other travelers are stranded in the treacherous Tibetan mountains, they are led to the hidden valley of Shangri-La. This atmospheric drama follows their encounter with an isolated lamasery whose peace and mysteries challenge everything they thought they knew.

Old Time Radio Classics presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
