Australia's best prone foiler of 2025, France's best prone foiler of 2025, UK's second best prone foiler of 2025. He's held a bit of the limelight this Autumn with this trip to see us in the UK and then a domination at the French Surf foil events - its about time we sat down and chatted properly. A discussion into surf foiling, kit, riding style, judging and why he keeps ballsing up his downwind race prep - please welcome Duke Cactuson. After spending a week traipsing around Hood River with Luke for a week in 2024 we were very happy to hear he was being shipped over to the UK into our jurisdiction for the Kernow Foil Classic event this year! A very relaxed and very talented chap, this episode reflects exactly that - we hope you enjoy! GFP wise - We've got a Newsletter going if you hadn't already heard..... check out our website to sign up - www.genericfoilingpod.com. We'll be sending blog style posts out every two weeks with funny tit bits we've cut out of episodes, things we've enjoyed in the world of foiling that week as well as any thoughts and foiling news that we deem worthy - get signed up, it'll be fun i promise!

We finally managed to sit down with Nico at AWSI this year. This was a goal we never achieved in 2025, despite having a very brief chat with him in a café queue the day before leaving. The F-One parawings have been awesome products and we were really interested to hear how the conversation had gone getting him involved with the brand at that time.
A relatively raw and indepth debrief into the AWSI event for 2026 with ourselves and the guys from the X Foils podcast - Dylan and Walt.We recorded an hour of us interviewing them, and then switched to an hour(ish) of them interviewing us - you can see their version on their own podcast this week also! Its so interesting hearing their views on the show and the goings on within the industry at the moment while coming from the more American side of it than us. Theres definite opposing views between all of us - but that’s not to say either of us in right or wrong. It creates some great conversation though!I'm mildly wary of this episode… only because it felt like it took a while for us to get going and I think I (Freddie) come across quite Doom and Gloom - maybe more than usual. Give it a chance, and maybe use our conversation as talking points. Theres definitely more to be discussed in future and we definitely ask a few more questions than we answer. Also check out part 2 on the X Foils Youtube and Spotify!
We knew we had to meet up quick to record a debrief and ‘deload' from what was a very intense week at the start of October - and a decent forecast midweek at Daymer Bay gave us the perfect setting. An epic parawing session in great conditions, followed by a smash burger and beer at Bluntrock Brewery to see out our evening catch up.
We sit down with Jon Modica from Cabrinha for our 153rd episode!Jon discusses their new foil, the Domani in great detail as well as how they've come about the new Nomad Parawing. Frustratingly we've not managed to use either yet as we've had such poor conditions since getting home and then rushed straight into the Kernow Foil Classic event at home where we spent most of the week running around interviewing everyone else! All in good time, Cabrinha have sent us a couple bits to have a play on and we're looking forward to it!Rate us 5 stars, follow on here, subscribe on YouTube, all that stuff. And if you'd be so kind, go to https://buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast and chuck us a few quid to buy a beer if you fancy it!
One of our favourite guests, Paul Martin. He is always a pleasure to listen to. In this episode, we learn about how things have changed for FoilDrive in the past 12 months, all about the new MAX + system and the upcoming slim + system as well as how Paul feels about competition in the Foil Assist category and much much more.
