Whether it’s an identity snarl or an identity tsunami, we have to be able to lift the grip of our anger and bitterness off of our internal steering wheel and get back to a place where our actions are being driven by compassion, whether that’s compassion for ourselves (I’m going to get myself out of this situation that’s making part of me feel so angry) or others.

Workout of the week: When you feel flooded, get curious about what is driving it—listen to what that flooded part of your system tells you, and offer some compassion.
