Lamb Chop Rides: Bikes, Builds & Life Behind the YouTube Channel | JUSTRIDE Podcast Ep.13

JUSTRIDE Podcast

Show Notes

John Bennett - better known as Lamb Chop Rides joins the JUSTRIDE Podcast to share the story behind one of the UK’s best-loved motorcycle YouTube channels.

From modifying an old Fireblade in his garage and documenting the build online to growing a community of more than 150,000 subscribers, John explains how a lifelong obsession with motorcycles gradually became something much bigger.

We talk about the origins of the Lamb Chop Rides name, his earliest and most questionable YouTube videos, working with motorcycle manufacturers, owning the Kawasaki Ninja H2 he never thought he could afford and the reality of balancing content creation with work and family life.

John also shares why riding remains such an important form of escape, reflects honestly on recovering from his accident in Cyprus and takes us back through unforgettable European adventures, dream bikes and the motorcycles he still wants to ride.

An honest, funny and properly bike-mad conversation with one of the most recognisable creators in the UK motorcycle community.

What happens when someone who once struggled with severe anxiety decides to get on a motorcycle and just keep going? In this episode of the JUSTRIDE Podcast, we're joined by motorcycle traveller, reviewer and content creator Jade Rides. Jade has ridden motorcycles across 22 countries, including an epic solo journey through 19 countries to Georgia and back. But, as we discover, the reason that adventure started wasn't quite what you'd expect… “It was completely out of spite.” 😂 We talk about how motorcycling helped Jade deal with anxiety and build confidence, travelling alone across Europe, tackling the Stella Alpina, riding the Wild Atlantic Way and Pyrenees, and why sometimes the best approach to motorcycle travel is to stop overplanning and just go. Jade also tells us the incredible story of finding a tiny puppy at the side of the road in Kosovo, putting her in a tank bag and eventually bringing not one — but TWO — rescue dogs home. We also get into: 🏍️ Going from a Suzuki VanVan to riding across 22 countries 🌍 Solo motorcycle travel and overcoming anxiety 🐶 Rescuing Lucky and Max while travelling 🏁 Riding the Norton Manx R on track 🇮🇸 Testing the new Norton Atlas in Iceland 🎥 The reality of becoming a motorcycle content creator 💛 Jade and Street Twin Kim's work with Endo Riders 🇳🇵 Plans for a future women's motorcycle trip to Nepal ⚡ The future of motorcycling, electric bikes and emerging manufacturers ⛺ Why Jade thinks some motorcycle-specific camping gear is… “crap” It's funny, open and at times incredibly personal and one of those conversations that reminds you just how much motorcycling can change someone's life.
