When I was sixteen, my friends and I snuck into an abandoned mine that had been closed for decades. We didn’t make it far before we heard a woman laughing somewhere deeper underground. Then she called me by name. The entrance disappeared. Something inside started copying our voices. And the farther we went trying to find a way out, the more we realized other people had been there before us. Years later, I finally learned the story people in my hometown told about the woman in the mine: If you answer her, she learns your voice. And then she uses it to call someone else inside. I have three new disturbing stories for you this week, and each one gets worse the longer it goes. In the first, a woman finds a missing child poster with her own childhood photo on it. Then, someone whose best friend disappeared eighteen years ago finds a video online showing her tied to a chair. And in the last story, a girl grows up thinking it’s completely normal for her mom to make her practice looking dead. Three very different nightmares. Good luck sleeping tonight.

A fictional horror story from Scared With Jess. A teenager gets one of those old chain emails warning her to forward it to thirteen people before midnight. She deletes it. Later that night, while she’s home alone, someone starts pounding on her bedroom door. After that, she starts seeing the same figure in her dreams, waking up freezing cold, and having thoughts that don’t always feel like her own. ♥️ Good luck sleeping tonight. 🪓 Linktree: https://linktr.ee/scaredwithjess
