What the Universe Looked Like Before Stars Existed

Tonight, we travel back to a time before the universe had stars. There were no constellations. No galaxies glowing across the darkness. Only a young cosmos waiting for its first points of light. In this episode, we gently explore what the universe looked like before stars existed. How space was filled with hydrogen and helium. How the universe slowly cooled after the Big Bang. And how gravity began gathering matter together inside an enormous cosmic darkness. We’ll drift through this mysterious period known as the cosmic dark ages, when the ingredients for stars were already there — but the first light had not yet begun to shine. There is no rush through billions of years. Only darkness slowly becoming structure. As you listen, imagine a universe without a single star overhead. Vast. Quiet. Waiting. And somewhere within that darkness, gravity is slowly bringing the first stars together… while you gently drift into sleep before their light arrives. Hosted on Acast.
