LIVERPOOL'S MIDFIELD PLANS CHANGE?! Mac Allister Contract Latest

TRANSFER SHOW PART 1.

Dave Davis returns with another edition of the Transfer Show for Anfield Index, reacting to a major twist in Alexis Mac Allister's Liverpool future.

After recent reports suggested Liverpool were not planning to offer the Argentine midfielder a new contract, journalist Ismail Mahmoud has now claimed that the Reds are preparing to open renewal talks.

With Manchester City and Atlético Madrid reportedly monitoring Mac Allister's situation, could Liverpool be reconsidering their position on one of Andoni Iraola's most important players?

Dave examines the conflicting reports from Ben Jacobs, David Lynch and Ismail Mahmoud, including the journalist's connections with Mac Allister's father and agent, Carlos Mac Allister.

Attention also turns to Liverpool's January transfer plans, with Chelsea increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and Monaco's Lamine Camara continuing to feature prominently among the Reds' potential targets.

Could Liverpool decide against signing a midfielder in January? And would a new deal for Mac Allister change the club's recruitment priorities?

Dave also analyses Trey Nyoni's impressive emergence, comparing the youngster's performances with Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch while questioning how Liverpool should manage his development.

With contract decisions, transfer targets and midfield competition all under discussion, Liverpool face some important choices heading towards 2027.
