Growing up in an alcoholic (or narcissistic) home or drug addicted home created traumas for the child growing up in this addicted home resulting in post traumatic disorder symptoms. This chronic recurring trauma experienced as a child is carried into adulthood and into our relationships. Healing and recovery is essential for the ACOA.
