Show Notes

Short deck #poker is a hold'em variant in which the 2s through 5s are stripped from the deck. The variant has been popular in live high-stakes games for years, but is now appearing commonly at lower stakes, both online and live.

One reason short deck is popular is that many hold'em players make understandable but costly mistakes. Thus the studied player has the opportunity to generate bigger win-rates than in regular hold'em. Give yourself an edge on the field by listening to this final episode of season 8 of the podcast.

You are locked in a duel of wits with a single opponent, constantly trying to outmaneuver them and countering their tactical adjustments. The one-on-one nature also means your skill edge is magnified leading to high win-rates.
