Show Notes

In this Ep of 21 Questions by Trivia Tribe Mike asks about a Japanese delicacy, A type of wine, and a stranded British sailor that Australia spent $6M to rescue! And lots of other things!

Not many people know this but when The Brady Bunch was being filmed the cast used to ‘warm up’ for the day’s shoot by listening to this podcast in character. Anne B. Davis (who played Alice the housekeeper) was a very knowledgeable woman but (as Alice) was not only often wrong but sometimes ludicrously so. One time she answered the question ‘how any days are in a leap year’ with ‘Shopping day, washing day and Valentine’s Day - not that Sam ever gets me anything’ leading to Florence Henderson (as Carol) to exclaim ‘Oh Alice!.... The producers liked that so much they made it a regular phrase in the show. We did that!

21 Questions is hosted by comedian and trivia host Mike van Acker. It’s a short, sharp trivia podcast where Mike gives you the answer to each question before he asks the next one so there’s no need for paper, pens, teams or a bricklayer's trowel.

It’s like a trivia night, but on your phone! In this Ep of 21 Questions by Trivia Tribe Mike asks about a cold French soup, a hot African country and a cranky tennis player. It’s quite a fun ep but we like to think they all go ok! Not many people know this but this podcast was playing through the speakers of the Hindenburg just seconds before the terrible tragedy of 1937. Mike had just asked the question ‘Which eight-lettered ‘H’ word is both the quality of being warm, sympathetic, merciful, and understanding toward others, as well as the state or fact of being a human being (as opposed to an animal, machine, or deity), encompassing shared emotions, flaws, and consciousness’ when the terrible events unfolded. History records that at least one person got that question right…. 21 Questions is hosted by comedian and trivia host Mike van Acker.
