Hobby Mojo: You’re in the groove- at a building/painting a mini, making/writing a list or scenario, or, in Doug’s case, “mathing” some incomprehensible hex and cardboard counter “game”. Everything is clicking, the miniature goes together perfectly, the paint job is smooth, a list or scenario just writes itself, or, in Doug’s case, all the maths math up, and the hexes move 2” to the left or right. In any case, the hobby gods are pleased, and everything is going to plan!
Join LPP as we discuss having, maintaining, and recovering that Hobby Mojo, so that you can do that hobby voodoo you do so well!
More from Lead Pursuit Podcast
If you haven’t seen the Crimson Skies table from Skirmishers Guild around the interwebs, you must be living under a rock! But that game board is about more than just looking pretty, it is at the heart of a gaming crossover. Steffan, the brains behind Skirmishers Guild, has been using a modified set of Gaslands rules to play out his Crimson Skies-themed dogfights and the team talks to him about how and why he created this crossover
You’re right, you caught us playing something OTHER than aerial wargames! This week we talk to the designer of Outside the Wire, a squad-level TTRPG set in the frame of modern counter-insurgency operations. Even if roleplaying isn’t “your thing” you ought to give this episode a listen, simply to hear what an absolute TTRPG dork Doug is. But you long time listeners probably already knew that by now! (We’re pretty sure he’s going to steal some of these ideas for his Taxila Coil campaign…)
Blood Red Skies is dead? Wait, nobody told the Lead Pursuit Podcast! Seriously though, the guys all talk about the long, slow slide that BRS has been on for the last few years. But more importantly they talk about what the future likely holds for BRS and Lead Pursuit in an era where Warlord Games walks away from the license.
Look, we know this episode will offend half of you, and the other half will ask blindly “what is the big deal”. Nothing polarizes people more than a discussion of AI these days - and we expect no less. But if you can put your personal feelings aside and listen to what one man is doing in the Gaming space with AI, you just might find yourself hating it a little less. (Okay, who are we kidding, you’re all going to cancel us after this episode!) And yes, the thumbnail was AI generated, did you really think Doug looks that good in person?
Did you miss out on attending NashCon 2026? You didn’t get your chance to play the LPP crew in a BRS tournament? Well don’t worry, we’ve got the team all together to talk about the funny, the serious, and the well… Grognardly stuff that took place at NashCon 2026!
