Dion is one of only five people still alive who are on the cover of Sgt. Pepper. He was one of John Lennon’s musical heroes. Dion was also supposed to be on the plane with Buddy Holly that fateful night in 1959 - and he tells us that heartbreaking story. He also gives the best description of Buddy Holly that I’ve ever heard. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Back in 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono staged a bed-in at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. When Lennon announced he wanted to record a song, André Perry got the call to record it. His story is legendary - and André tells us how he rescued a terrible recording to become one of the most famous peace anthems of all time. Hosted on Acast. Mal Evans holds a special place in Beatles history - he was with them from the Cavern days through to the early solo years. His story is both remarkable and tragic. Author Ken Womack has written the definitive biography, as the Evans' family gave him access to Mal’s memoirs and notes. A must-listen interview for Beatles fans. Hosted on Acast. In this archived interview, Max talks about his favourite Beatle albums, Ringo’s profound influence on rock drummers, and what happened onstage at a Springsteen concert the night Lennon was murdered. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Jann and Peter Blake designed what Rolling Stone called the “greatest album cover of all time.” The story behind that album cover is fascinating. Remarkably, Jann and Peter never heard the album before designing the cover, how the faces were chosen is surprising, and Jann explodes quite a few myths surrounding the Sgt. Pepper cover. A must listen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
