Hosted by Martin Kavanagh, the session brought together expert insights to help farmers understand the current situation and how best to prepare. Conor McAloon (UCD School of Veterinary Medicine) provided a clear update on the national bluetongue situation, outlining the current risk, how the virus spreads, and what farmers should be aware of as breeding approaches. Dr. Doreen Corridan (CEO, NCBC) explained the responsible measures being taken within the bull studs, highlighting the steps in place to protect genetics, maintain biosecurity, and safeguard the breeding supply chain. The webinar focused on answering farmer questions and providing practical guidance on protecting herds, understanding the risks, and preparing for the upcoming breeding season. Thanks again to our speakers and everyone who took the time to attend and engage in the discussion.
