Show Notes
Mental health is a hot topic in the world today but the stigma associated with men and how they deal with their mental health issues has not changed. This is our introduction to the world. William and Mike are two men that have a lifetime of experience dealing with mental health issues. Depression, anxiety, addiction, we've dealt with all of it. We want to create an environment where men feel open and safe to discuss what's going on in their brain. We're not doctors and nothing in our show should be considered medical advice. We're open, honest and ready to help others find that inner voice and create a healthy dialog. We hope you enjoy our discussions and as the show progresses we'd love to hear from you. We want this to be interactive so check us out at www.facebook.com/manvsmood and post any questions you may have or topics you'd like to discuss
More from The ManVsMood Podcast
In this episode of ManVsMood, we welcome Jonathon, half of the duo responsible for founding Wholesome Boy Clothing. We chat about everything they've encountered as new founders as well as their mission to donate 5% of all proceeds to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Both Jonathon and Justin were affected by the suicide of a close friend when they were in their teens and wanted to find a way to help those in need. You can find Wholesome Boy on Instagram @wholesomeboyco
Lisa Willis was the number 5 pick in the 2006 WNBA draft, holds records at UCLA and played for Team USA but her accomplishments off the floor are far more impressive. Lisa wrote the book When The Buzzer Sounds to help former professional athletes make the jump from their playing days to life after the game. She also travels the world speaking to major corporations on leadership and works tirelessly to help both kids and adults through non-profit organizations. Lisa was kind enough to spend time with us discussing leadership and how we can help ourselves get centered and focus on the important things in life.
In this episode of the ManVsMood Podcast we discuss actionable ways to engage with our mental health. We've all need to start somewhere so we go over ten steps to begin focusing on your mental health. Also, Gary had a run in with a bad apple and tells us how it nearly ended him (he's fine now, thankfully).
In this episode of ManVsMood we're joined by sixth grade teacher and freshly-minted TikTok superstar Brett Colley. Brett joins us to discuss teaching sixth graders, pandemic education, mental health, how kids are handling social media as well as his experience going viral and what that means for him. Brett is a super cool guy that knows the importance of engaging with our mental health, especially as men. His insight into leading kids, our roles as parents and how we can help our kids was awesome to hear.
