Show Notes

Imagine for a moment that you have been training for a single event your entire life. You’ve prepared for it, you’ve accepted it, and you’ve built your identity around it. But that event isn't a marathon or a championship. It’s when your life will end. My guest today, Erin Mark, was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic condition. As a child, she was a Make-A-Wish kid who was told she wouldn’t live past the age of eighteen. For years, Erin has lived on borrowed time. But when she hit her thirties and entered end-stage lung failure, she decided she wasn't done writing her story just yet. And thanks to modern medicine, Erin is still with us today. She is now a Keynote Speaker who teaches organizations how to thrive through uncertainty. In this episode, we go deep into the difference between 'grit' and true adaptability. We break down how to advocate for yourself when the experts have given up on you, and we talk about how to stop waiting for certainty and start focusing on what truly matters. This is a powerful conversation about defying the odds and rewriting your story.

In This Episode, You Will Learn: The DASH Framework: How to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want. The SOS Method for High-Stakes Advocacy: A practical three-step strategy to ensure your voice is heard when it matters How to utilize the gap between your initial reaction and your next decision to navigate uncertainty with clarity rather than fear. Why treating your time as a limited resource allows you to “cram joy and urgency” into even the most ordinary days. Overcoming the “At Least” Trap: Why we must move past dismissive empathy and learn to sit with others in their struggle to build true connection and resilience.

Every one of us will face a moment where the ground shifts beneath our feet. A career ends unexpectedly. A partnership falls apart. Someone we love is suddenly gone. In those moments, it can feel like life is ending. But what if those disruptions are actually an invitation to become someone new? In this mashup episode, I've brought together three of the most powerful conversations from the show. Caleb Campbell, Paige Goss and Mike Maddock each faced a defining setback, and each came out the other side with lessons that will change the way you think and respond when things don't go to plan. If you're navigating a major change right now, or simply want to become more resilient at work and in life, this episode is for you.

Achieving your next level of performance and leadership is never an accident. It is a direct result of the standards you set, the internal accountability you cultivate, and the habits you consistently reinforce when nobody else is watching. In this special mashup episode of The Edge of Possible, I sit down with four exceptional leaders, Jon Calvin, Alex Weber, Emile Studham, and Tony Gareri. Together, we break down the mental strategies behind pushing through discomfort, how to navigate the gap when performance falls short of perfection, how to build a cooperative team culture through rituals and storytelling, and why uncompromising integrity to core values is the ultimate foundation of leadership.

Confidence isn’t about waiting for fear or self-doubt to disappear before you take action.

When life gets busy and the pressure builds, it’s easy to treat fun as an afterthought or a luxury we’ll get to once everything else is finished. The reality is that fun isn't a reward for hard work, it is a fundamental fuel that drives our passion, resilience, and adaptability. In this episode, I sit down with work culture expert, humorist, and author Joel Zeff to unpack how the core principles of improv comedy can help us navigate change, step outside our comfort zone, and build high-performing cultures. This conversation is packed with actionable insights on creating an environment where passion and peak performance naturally thrive.

Integrity is often viewed as a static trait, something you either have or you don't. But real self-leadership requires looking at integrity as an active, daily practice. In this episode, I sit down with serial entrepreneur and leadership coach, Andrew Horn. Andrew reveals his practical 3-step model for personal integrity, built on three non-negotiable pillars: knowing yourself, being yourself, and keeping your agreements. Together, we unpack how to reverse engineer your core values, navigate difficult emotions with curiosity rather than resistance, and how to use objective communication to eliminate drama and build deep connection. Whether you are striving to break through a personal plateau, lead your company with greater conviction, or align your daily actions with your core values, this episode serves as a practical guide for radical self-leadership.
