Kia ora e te whānau! We’re back from all over the motu — and diving straight into the kōrero with a smorgasbord of reo treats and whakaaro. This week, we kick off with a juicy kīwaha that sparks a kōrero about where you're really from. We untangle the tongue-twister that is “diphthong”, then look at how to pronounce reo Māori diphthongs properly. Paraone shares some classic kōrero tuku iho from the kuia of his youth, amongst other discussions around ‘panoni’, ‘kawemate’ and ‘harimate’, to name a few. Whakarongo mai — it’s a hearty hākari of te reo, tikanga and kōrero o nehe!
