More from Back Post - Premier League Football Podcast
Spurs beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, and Seb and Tobes spend the opening half hour in a heated post-match showdown, with old podcast quotes read back, possession stats thrown around and plenty of cope on show. Then they run through the rest of Premier League match week 8, from Villa vs City and Arsenal vs Everton to Sunday's El Clásico.
Seb's on a comeback and the lads are deep into the Tenable season, with nine rounds of football trivia from TikTok followings and Europa League runners-up to PSG legends and yellow cards. It all comes down to a brutal final round on players who've shared a dressing room with both Pepe Reina and Idrissa Gueye.
The boys react to a big midweek of Champions League action, from Arsenal's draw in Munich and Man United's trip to Como to PSG vs Barcelona and Real Madrid's latest. Then they predict every game in Premier League match week 8, including Chelsea vs Spurs, Villa vs City and Man United vs Bournemouth, plus a bonus El Clásico call.
Seb, Rory and Tobes each build their unluckiest Premier League XI, from Ledley King’s knees and Abou Diaby’s ankle to Jack Wilshere and Luke Shaw. There are injuries, sliding-door moments and some very questionable “unlucky” arguments, and there’s plenty of Arsenal and Spurs bias. Seb has also decided football history started about five years ago.
Tobes and Rory (minus Seb) review Premier League Gameweek 7. Arsenal ground out a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, Chelsea showed real maturity at Everton, Man City made it seven wins from seven and Bournemouth finally got their first win of the season. We also cover Liverpool’s win at Brentford, Man United’s point at Leeds, Brighton thrashing Crystal Palace. Have your say: Join the Back Post community on Peyto!
