Past The Name

7 YEARS IN PRISON. DEPORTED. THEN HE FOUND GOD | Daniel Ahsin “Churchboy” | Past The Name EP 07

Past The Name

Show Notes

Daniel Ahsin was born in New Zealand and grew up in Sydney with a future in rugby league. Then his father’s life was taken, and Daniel says his own life spiralled into alcohol, drugs and violence.

Seven years in prison. Deportation back to New Zealand. Then an encounter with God that changed the direction of his life.

For Episode 7 of Past The Name, Churchboy opens up about how reading began for him in prison, finding his faith, joining Destiny Church and why he now spends his time trying to reach young people before they follow the path he did.

We also talk about Man Up, what Daniel has seen it do for people, and his strongly held views about Islam and New Zealand’s future.

There’s a lot to agree or disagree with here. Hear his full story, then tell me what you think.
