CORE - Core Gaming for Core Gamers

Show Notes

This week on CORE, the hosts are feeling the heat with only 42 days left until Nerdtacular 2026! Scott, Beau, and Jon dive deep into a massive week of gaming news, starting with the official launch of the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion. We break down the new classes and whether the Horadric Cube lives up to the name. How stoked are we for the Black Flag remake? Very. We also look ahead at a packed May release schedule, featuring heavy hitters like 007 First Light, Forza Horizon 6, and the Switch 2's Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Plus, we discuss the technical wizardry of Vampire Crawlers, the mysterious ""30-day check-in"" from Sony, and the strange allure of Shapez 2’s new Manufacture Mode. From Resident Evil movie teasers to the ergonomics of the new Steam Controller, it’s a full show.

A reminder to check out the latest articles on CORE.SHOW. Plus, Control Resonant is rad, so is Star Wars Galactic Racer, and boy howdy does Castlevania Belmont's Curse start out strong. Also some time with Gears of War E-Day, Pools, 9 Kings, Over the Hill, Dress Maker, Hellraiser, and TONS more. Also, you can play AAA games in a browser now and it's weird. We talk about the games of October, and why the new Castlevania is likely the most exciting of the bunch. Plus, Uncharted 5 is real, and RE 9 gets even more confusing. Scott and Jon played the remastered Witcher III with mixed opinions. Scott played Hungry Horrors and TOEM 2. Jon giving Control Resonant a shot. Also he played more Fire Emblem: Fortune'ss Weave. Beau played more Valheim, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Demo X D&D, Forbidden Solitaire, Heroes of the Storm, and a load of WoW Forever. And lots more!

Sep 26, 2026

We played a load of the WoW Forever beta and loved it. Also, the Resident Evil movie rocked. Also, Scott played NMS's update, Letters From The Past, beat Shadow Dungeon, played a bit of Control: Resonant, and can't wait to talk about Hungry Horrors. Jon played Fire Emblem Forturne's Weave and Silent Hill: Townfall. Beau got back into Valheim, and the world is better for it. We talk about Microsoft's new weird patent application that suchs really bad, Bungie saying they will fix things, Quake Champions going Pay to Play, and Nintendo turning 137 years this year! And some talk about games on rails!
