More from Stories From SuperTouring
This week on Stories From SuperTouring, we head back to Brands Hatch in 1992 for one of the most memorable races of the early Super Touring era. Will Hoy and Andy Rouse looked set to dominate for Toyota, only for the two teammates to collide and throw away a golden opportunity. John Cleland was there to pick up the pieces, while Steve Soper produced a brilliant recovery drive from the back of the grid. Joining us to look back at it all are touring car journalist Andrew Charman and motorsport photographer Greg Denton.
We're back for Series 9 of Stories From SuperTouring! Kicking things off, Alex Clarke is joined by former BTCC driver Simon Harrison for a chat about his racing career, including his time behind the wheel of the Peugeot 405 in 1995 and his return to the championship in 2000 and 2001. Simon shares his memories of racing in the Super Touring era, the highs and lows of his time with Peugeot, the characters he raced against and plenty of stories from behind the scenes.

Together, they revisit the atmosphere surrounding the final weekend of the championship, the intensity of the title battle, and the significance of STW’s place in the wider Super Touring story. Factory rivalry, controversy, and one final showdown before the curtain came down on an era.
This week on Stories From SuperTouring, Alex is joined by former touring car engineer Brad Joyce to go behind the scenes of the BTCC during the Super Touring era. Having worked with a number of teams across one of touring car racing’s most competitive periods, Brad shares stories from the pitlane, the pressures of race engineering, and the personalities that shaped the championship throughout the 1990s. From working alongside Lawrence Bristow and Charlie Cox, to spells with West Surrey Racing and Prodrive, Brad reflects on engineering drivers including Craig Baird and Rickard Rydell during some of the BTCC’s most memorable seasons. Along the way, he gives a fascinating insight into how teams operated during the height of Super Touring, from developing cars and chasing performance to dealing with the intensity of race weekends. Packed with behind-the-scenes stories, technical insight and memories from one of touring car racing’s golden eras, this is an episode not to miss for any BTCC and Super Touring fan.
