How Do We Manage?

How Do We Manage Menopause Without Losing Our Minds?

How Do We Manage?

Show Notes

How much do you know and understand about perimenopause and menopause? It’s a stage of life that will affect each and every one of us – either directly or indirectly, but until a few years ago, was barely spoken about.

Finally that conversation is getting louder – thanks to women like our guest Dr Naomi Potter.

Naomi is a leading menopause expert, the founder of Menopause Care clinic, and co-author with Davina McCall of the bestselling book “Menopausing”.

In this episode she and Stephanie take a deep dive into perimenopause – when it can start, how it manifests, the potential impact on mental health and the weird symptoms it can present. They also discuss everything HRT – from the pros and cons, risks and benefits to alternative options, treatments and therapies. And take a good look at training and education, what needs to change and how families can really support women going through hormonal changes.

Parenting has never come with more advice than it does today. Social media is full of people claiming that their style of raising a child is the right one, commenting on everything from discipline to nutrition to education. So how do you work out what to listen to?

Navigating the online world for ourselves is hard enough, but trying to keep it safe for our children feels near impossible. We’ve talked a lot on the show lately about the dangers of posting pictures of our families, how children as young as three are using social media, and the sort of content that is being fed to our kids online. One thing that keeps coming up over and over is: how do we keep it under control?
