One question that I get asked often is "Why are you so political?" In fact, I think that confusion over politics is one of the greatest challenges to the church today and is causing massive division. This episode is the simplest explanation possible for why we cannot escape politics. Secondly, I discuss how secular social justice has twisted true justice, turning it on its head. Many Christians have fallen for this and have fought for secular social justice. And even though the results of their policies have caused much pain for the very communities that they aimed to help, these Christians never apologize; they never repent; and they never change course. ► Get your free trial with Covenant Eyes by using the promo code: Cooper https://www.covenanteyes.com/ ► Use code: WWW23 for free shipping on all Cooper Stuff merch https://stores.kotisdesign.com/cooper-stuff ► Buy John's new book, Wimpy, Weak, And Woke http://www.johnlcooper.com/wimpyweakwoke ► Connect with JP Sears and Brave Books: https://awakenwithjp.com/ https://bravebooks.us/ ► Subscribe to the podcast: www.johnlcooper.com Apple: http://bit.ly/cooperstuff Spotify: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffspotify CastBox: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffcast ► Connect with John L. A handful of YouTubers and "discernment ministries" have been claiming that Skillet's song Monster isn't Christian for various reasons. This video isn't primarily designed to defend the song, but rather to show why I believe those claims misrepresent the Gospel. ► Buy John's book, Wimpy, Weak, And Woke https://a.co/d/j2JNRCV ► Subscribe to the podcast: www.johnlcooper.com Apple: http://bit.ly/cooperstuff Spotify: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffspotify CastBox: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffcast ► Connect with John L. I often hear phrases such as "God is bigger than the Bible." Today I'm going to explain why I think we should not say this. There is a sense in which it is true, but typically it is used to subtly lower the authority of the Bible. Today we talk about something we've never dabbled into: Bethel controversy. Podcaster Mike Winger released a 6 hour expose on Bethel's knowledge about one of their most platformed "prophets," Shawn Bolz, who allegedly data-mined personal information about people and used it to fraudulently prophesy to them. These and other accusations has caused a firestorm in the evangelical world, especially in its charismatic corners. Today, we briefly respond to the controversy. A church that is truly prophetic would stand up for righteousness and for victims of church abuse. ► Mike Winger's Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH05S53QlY0 ► Buy John's new book, Wimpy, Weak, And Woke http://www.johnlcooper.com/wimpyweakwoke https://a.co/d/j2JNRCV ► Subscribe to the podcast: www.johnlcooper.com Apple: http://bit.ly/cooperstuff Spotify: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffspotify CastBox: http://bit.ly/cooperstuffcast ► Connect with John L.
