Show Notes
She’s so AT-Elle (so ATL we couldn’t get her to come hang out in person) - this week’s guest is legendary sports anchor, new author, and certified ageless baddie, Elle Duncan. We warm her up by playing a new iteration of this or that in our game: What The Elle. Plus, we find out if Elle would have wanted to be at a slumber party with Syd and TP’s countdowns to midnight. Then, we dive into Elle balancing motherhood with her career and how that turned into her fulfilling her dream of becoming an author. She breaks down how she went from failed actress (we won’t be able to watch One Tree Hill the same again), to being DMX’s handler at an ATL radio station, to becoming the power house she is and continues to be.
You can always count on Elle to get real and leave you with inspiration - she breaks down her life long battle with an eating disorder and how she handles being in the public eye. Then, how she juggles being a genuine fan of sports while also remaining an unbiased voice of the game. Finally, she tells us her favorite places to travel and why she could be on the tourism board for all of them.
In W Wide Web - Diana Taurasi is in the rafters now and the WNBA Hall of Fame inducted Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne, and Chamique Holdsclaw. You don’t even have to be a W fan to recognize what the ‘96 USA Women’s Basketball Olympic team has done for sport.
And we love the lengths y’all go to to get us a DM and wish your people happy birthday…

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for… Parasocial WNBA Fan’s Biggest Night! This week Syd and TP bring you the second annual Unnecessary Awards. We will celebrate our favorite moments from this season, and in true Syd and TP fashion, correct some of y’all’s behavior. The competition is fierce this year, come find out the off-court MVP, words of impact, and +++ more. And don’t worry, there will be prizes.
Thank you to everyone who listened to last week’s episode. Shoutout to our day ones and newcomer babysitters, but a special shoutout to the trolls for the record-breaking engagement across all platforms. The hate in your heart fills our stats and pockets and for that we thank you!
One thing you can count on: Syd and TP are always going to stand on business. We know you've all wanted to hear from us and we’re ready to talk about it all. Not just one interaction with a belligerent b*tch boy, but the last decade of standing up for what's right. We also get into our time at ComplexCon (TP was in thrift heaven) and where we got our sick basketball jackets. Plus, giving Arike and the ice in her veins flowers and breaking some WNBA insider news about Alysha Clark. We're loving the meme factory that's Angel Reese and not at all surprised by Coach Nat's collapse, she'd be calling plays from the back of an ambulance if she had to. Finally, we love when you ask us for dating advice. We love it more when you’re nuts and not self aware. Keep the mess coming babysitters… See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Audio listeners, we see you, we hear you… and yes, we did forget about you. We’ll do better.
TP has another outfit you do not want to miss. Who knew TP looked so good in pink and in overalls?
