Dumb Smart Mums

Show Notes

Did I or did I not tell you that season 2 was going to be bigger and better than ever?! I have followed and loved this lady for a good, long while, and you'll soon see that I really took the opportunity to yap. Sinead has recently released a book called It Nearly Killed Me but I Love You which I insist you read. It is so fantastic, and there were so many moments that I felt so completely seen. Sinead is strong, authentic, funny, realistic, vulnerable, approachable, down-to-earth, witty, self-aware, and so much more. I basically never wanna stop talking to her ever?? Vivie is so, so lucky to have her as a mum. And her work will be such a taonga to so many parents in the throes of those parenting trenches we find ourselves in. The fact that new parents will be able to reach for this book and feel immediately less alone makes me feel very warm and fuzzy!!!!! If you listen to this episode and feel inspired to make some change or help the perinatal mental health space, this is a petition calling for the betterment of perinatal mental health services in Aotearoa. Huge thank you to Kristy Maguire for creating it and her mahi! You can follow her here on instagram. Please, please do share this episode with friends or on your socials. Oh hi folks, once again it was Abbey's turn to research but then she didn't and we ended up giving you a different kind of episode. BUT, she gives you some insight as to why she didn't research with her life updates. Y'all are the first to hear it, she's a bit nervous to tell the world, so be nice.

Join hosts Abbey & Charlotte this week as we sit down together and have a vulnerable chat about our frustrations with being working mothers, and the roadblocks we've encountered trying to "have it all" (the way we are repeatedly told we can).
