Hey friend! In this episode of Living in Sync, I’m sitting down with my podcast production client and friend, Cathy—host of Girlfriend’s Guide to Midlife. We dive into what it’s really like to navigate career changes in midlife—the excitement, the uncertainty, and the growth that comes from giving yourself permission to pivot. Cathy opens up about redefining her identity beyond her job titles, trusting her intuition, and what it means to truly live a purpose-driven life. If you’ve ever felt stuck or unsure about your next chapter, this episode will leave you feeling inspired and empowered to embrace the changes ahead. Welcome to the first official episode of BRB with Joelle! 💛 I’m sharing why it was time to say goodbye to Living in Sync, what BRB means to me, and the more casual, offline direction I want to take the show. Plus, we chat about:
It's been a while, so I'm sharing a little life update! In this episode, I catch you up on what life has looked like over the past few months, including:
In this episode, I’m sitting down for a real-life Q1 update, because the first few months of this year did not go how I expected, but looking back now, I can see how everything kind of unfolded the way it was supposed to. January was really quiet for my podcast production business, and for the first time in a long time, I started seriously thinking about working outside the house again after being self-employed for 13–14 years. I applied for a job I really wanted and didn’t get it, which was disappointing at the time… but as you’ll hear in this episode, that ended up redirecting me in a way I couldn’t have planned. February brought a bit of a health scare when I found a lump and had to go through a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy. Thankfully everything came back benign after they drained fluid, but that whole experience definitely makes you pause and think about life a little differently. Around that same time, I also took about a 40-day break from scrolling and social media apps, and honestly, that might have been one of the most impactful things I did this year. It really clarified for me how much I enjoy the physical world — my town, my routines, my family, real conversations — and how I don’t want to live my life primarily online. Then in March, through a friend connection, I ended up interviewing for a job, got an offer, and started in late March. I’m still working with my three long-term podcast clients, but this new chapter has been really grounding and different in a good way. In this episode I also talk about:
This is one of the most honest episodes I’ve recorded in a while. I sat down and hit “record” not with a plan, but with a full heart and an in-between season I know so many of us find ourselves in. If you’ve ever felt stuck, unclear, or like your ambition has nowhere to go right now this one’s for you. In this episode, I’m sharing what I’m doing when I don’t have a clear path forward. We talk about:
In this episode, I’m sharing some of the small but powerful shifts that have helped our family eat healthier — without turning meals into a battle or making a million changes at once. As a certified nutritionist (and busy mom), I get how overwhelming it can feel to overhaul your family’s eating habits. So instead, I’m walking you through the mindset shifts and simple strategies I use to keep things realistic and sustainable — especially during busy seasons. We chat about:
