Hey doll!Have you ever made a list in your head of everything about you that needs fixing? Your grades. Your style. Your friend group. That thing you said three weeks ago that you’re still replaying. And then anxiety leans in and whispers that you need to fix all of it, like, yesterday. So you try to overhaul your whole life at once. And instead of feeling more confident, you end up feeling more stuck than ever. I know, because I tried to reinvent my entire self the summer before freshman year, and I ended up standing in the hallway while my old friends shut me out and my new friends walked away. Here’s the truth: anxiety is fear, and fear is a liar. You don’t have to fix everything at once to build real confidence. You just have to pick one thing. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
Why trying to fix everything at once keeps you stuck instead of confident How the Enemy uses overwhelm to keep you paralyzed, and what God offers instead Step C of the PEACE Plan: Choose One Move Why a lamp lights up just enough for the next step, not the entire map (Psalm 119:105) Why small, faithful steps aren’t practice for the real thing. They are the real thing (Luke 16:10) Why you should never underestimate small daily progress (Zechariah 4:10)
Your one step this week: when the whole list shows up, ask yourself one question: what’s the one next step? Then take it. Just one. And let that be enough for today.Coming Friday: what to do when your friend group starts shifting and you suddenly feel like the outsider.xo, Kristen🎧 Follow Anxious Christian Teen where ever you listen so you never miss an episode.WANNA GO DEEPER, BABY SIS? Hey doll,Ever walk down the hallway and feel like every single head turns? Your hair decided to be frizzy today, you’re not sure you got the right New Balances, and you’re so hot on the inside you might actually catch fire. That feeling of everyone watching you is real. But what’s actually going on is usually not what you think. In this episode, I tell you about the night I walked into a gym with a brand new hairstyle and went from “I’m cute” to “I feel ridiculous” in about two seconds flat. Then I give you one tool for the second that heat starts rising, and three truths that take the power out of the spotlight. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
Hey mama,Is your teen’s anxiety your fault? If that question has been sitting heavy on your heart, I want you to hear me: no, it’s not. It doesn’t mean you missed something, it doesn’t mean you weren’t there for her, and it doesn’t mean you haven’t raised her to truly trust God.Maybe she’s been quieter lately, snapping at everybody, or falling apart the second she gets in the car. You want to help, but you’re scared of saying the wrong thing. So today I’m giving you a simple way to start that conversation, one that won’t send her running to her room. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
Hey doll!Somebody asks if you’re okay, and before you can even think, it slips right out: “I’m good. I can handle it.” Baby sis, that might be the most expensive sentence you’ll say all year.Today I’ve got my coaching hat on, and I’m calling you out a little bit. That’s because “I can handle it” usually isn’t about being stubborn. It’s about being scared. I’m sharing the time saying it almost put me in the hospital, what pride really has to do with anxiety, and what God’s Word says about asking for help. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
How do I tell my mom I’m not okay?Hey doll. There’s something you’ve been meaning to tell your mama. Maybe you’ve almost said it a few times. In the kitchen. On the drive home from practice. Right before she turned off your light. And every single time, you decided later would be better.Telling your mama you’re struggling with anxiety is scary. It means admitting you’re not quite as “fine” as you’ve let her believe. You don’t want her to feel like she did something wrong, you don’t want her to panic, and you definitely don’t want her to brush it off. So you wait for the right time. But here’s the truth, baby sis: the perfect moment to have a difficult conversation doesn’t exist. The best we can do is find the calmest one. This one’s for you and your mama, so listen together or go grab her after. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
Is my anxiety bad enough to get help? If you’ve ever asked yourself that, lying in bed replaying your whole day, this one’s for you.Anxiety is everywhere right now. Everybody’s “so anxious” about the test, the game, the group chat. So when your stomach turns, your heart races, and your brain won’t stop picking apart every little thing, it’s easy to decide that’s just normal, and that other girls need help way more than you do.Baby sis, that’s not humility. That’s the anxiety talking. And I know, because in high school I sat across from a school counselor and convinced her I was totally fine. What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
