Kia ora welcome to another episode of Chafing the Dream with Mal and Dwayne.
We start with the usual updates of our training runs. Mal gearing up for the Mile Series and Dwayne gearing up for the Taupo 100k (1.5 weeks out). We talk about Mal being 28 weeks pregnant and running/weight lifting. Mal continuing to make little gains in the gym room. Meanwhile Dwayne brings in the down hill speed sessions resulting in some wild DOMS!
Mal and Dwayne announce some local PSA starting with Shannon Leigh Litt running an ultra a day for 1,000 days!! It is just wild. We briefly talk about how often we saw her in Whangarei and excited to see what she will be doing next. We recap the Food Alchemist session with Shaun La Franco. We feel it is always good to talk about the importance of nutrition especially optimising your nutrition. Congratulations to Chris and Helen at the Hut HQ doing their first live event with more to come.
There are two upcoming events Kerikeri half marathon on 21st November and Chafing the Coin Collection the week before on the 15th November. See y'all at both events :)
Keep chafing your dreamzzzzzzzz.

Kia ora haere mai Welcome to another episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start the episode talking about our training. Dwayne’s taper week leading up to Taupo and Mal’s Frihaka plus being plagued with illness. Seems to be a reoccurring issue in this podcast.
Kia ora Welcome to another great episode with Mal and Dwayne. We start this episode doing some housekeeping.
Kia ora Welcome to a funnnn episode of several different voices besides the usual Mal and Dwayne yarning and yarning and yarning away. I don't know if you can tell at this point, but I (Mal) writes the pod description and truly believe nobody even reads this bloody thing. Anyways...
This week Mal and Dwayne share their recent training progress, Mal has an updated lift program which she is very excited about and Dwayne is staring down the barrel of the Taupo 100km in a little over 3 weeks. They also go over the recent results from the local half marathon, as well as Dwayne's experience running as the 1:40 pacer. Lastly the up coming mile series has both Dwayne and Mal very excited. And it's not just that Mal is excited to hear a measurement in the imperial units. The track has a special place in her heart and she's hoping more people will discover this passion. So hold on to your earbuds as this might turn into a track podcast for a few weeks. If you want to sign up to race The Mile you can do so here: https://hatea.run/event/the-mile/ Entry closes 4th Oct. Keep chafing your dreeeaaaamz
