The sun is out. The wildflowers are blooming. Three girls walk into the Australian bush and simply...don't come back! This week, Shelby dresses up as a student at Appleyard College, and together with Zena, they take a deep dive into PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK! The 1975 Peter Weir film that has been unsettling audiences (and cobnfusing them beautifully) for fifty years!
Is it horror? Is it a mystery? Is it a fever dream dressed up in Victorian lace? Yes. The answer is yes! Zena and Shelby dig into what makes this movie feel like a waking nightmare despite its dreamy, sun-drenched surface and the rock itself as something ancient and hungry! The two also tackle the big question: Do you need an explanation to be truly scared?
Whether you've seen PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK three times or it's been on your list forever, this one's worth the descent! Bring sunscreen. Leave breadcrumbs.
