Interview with Char Grossman: Yoga with Parkinson's Disease, and YogaReach Mindful Movement for Parkinson's Disease
The Parkinson's Vitality Project PodcastShow Notes
Today I talk with Char Grossman, the director and founder of Yoga Reach. Char is a compassionate, highly trained, nationally certified school psychologist and certified yoga therapist who has used yoga in her own life as a complementary consistent practice to strengthen and restore her body, retrain her mind, and develop an optimistic mindful lifestyle. She has developed the YogaReach Mindful Movement Program and now teaches Mindful Movement classes for people with Parkinson’s at Be In Motion in Ohio.
In this episode, Char and I talk about some of the benefits of Yoga for people with Parkinson’s, and how she incorporates breathing, mindfulness, and cognition (brain teasers) into her yoga program.

More from The Parkinson's Vitality Project Podcast
In this episode, I speak with Anne Muskopf. Anne is the Director of the Charlotte & Richard Okonow Parkinson's Family Support Program at the Jewish Family and Children Services in Waltham, MA. We discuss the value that community programs bring to people with PD as well as discuss the value of support groups.
As we move from Women's History Month to Parkinson's Disease Awareness month, I felt it was important to take some time and talk about the impact of Parkinson's Disease on Women. Women are not diagnosed with PD as frequently as men and experience different symptoms of Parkinson's that will impact their lives differently than their male counterparts.
This week on the podcast I talk about pain.
Orthostatic Hypotension affects up to 1/3 of all people with Parkinson's and can have devastating consequences. In this episode, Anne discusses what Orthostatic Hypotension is, how it is diagnosed, and strategies for how to manage it in your daily life.
In this episode of the Parkinson's Vitality Project Podcast the tables are turned! Dr. Caroline Morris is interviewing me about my newest program helping people to improve their life through small individualized changes that will heave impacts on their overall health through coaching. We talk about what coaching is and how it can help people by focusing on the individual and allowing for open safe space to figure out how to achieve optimal wellness.
