Story Transcript:

Ga: Bhí an ghrian ag dul faoi sa spéir os cionn na gClár Moher. En: The sun was setting in the sky above the Cliffs of Moher.

Ga: Bhí an gaoth ag séideadh go láidir, ag imirt cluiche leis na duileoga óir agus ómra. En: The wind was blowing strongly, playing a game with the golden and amber leaves.

Ga: Bhí rang tíreolaíochta na hollscoile ag tabhairt turas faoin tuath, agus bhí uaireanta sona caite acu ag déanamh staidéir ar an tírdhreach álainn. En: The university's geography class was taking a tour in the countryside, and they had spent happy hours studying the beautiful landscape.

Ga: Ach i measc an ghrúpa, bhí fear óg darbh ainm Cillian. En: But among the group was a young man named Cillian.

Ga: Bhí sé lán d'fhiosracht agus lán d'fhuinneamh. En: He was full of curiosity and energy.

Ga: Chuala sé scéalta faoin an áit rúnda, cúisín amach ón gcosán, áit a raibh seod i bhfolach dar leis. En: He had heard stories about the secret place, nestled off the path, where a treasure was supposedly hidden.

Ga: Bhí sé diongbháilte teacht uirthi. En: He was determined to find it.

Ga: Ní raibh cúram air faoi na rabhaidh a thug a mhúinteoir, ná faoin aimsir atá ag athrú go tapaidh. En: He didn't care about the warnings from his teacher, nor the rapidly changing weather.

Ga: Siobhán ab ainm an cailín eile sa rang, agus bhí súil ghéar aici ar Cillian. En: Siobhán was the name of another student in the class, and she was keeping a keen eye on Cillian.

Ga: Chonaic sí cé chomh fiochmhar is atá sé ag iarraidh imeacht leis féin. En: She saw how eager he was to go off on his own.

Ga: Cé go raibh sé fiosrach, shíl sí go mba ghá aire a thabhairt dó. En: Although he was inquisitive, she thought he might need someone to watch over him.

Ga: Tháinig plean ina hintinn. En: A plan formed in her mind.

Ga: Fanfaidh sí ciúin agus cuirfidh sí súil air, ach beidh sí ar a airdeall i gcónaí. En: She would stay quiet and keep an eye on him, but she would always be on her guard.

Ga: "Faighfidh mé an seod sin," a dúirt Cillian leis féin agus é ag sleamhnú amach as radharc an ghrúpa. En: "I'll find that treasure," said Cillian to himself as he slipped out of the group's view.

Ga: Bhí Siobhán díreach taobh thiar de, á coinneáil súil gan cur isteach go fóill. En: Siobhán was just behind him, keeping watch without interfering yet.

Ga: D'éirigh leis éalú ón gcosán agus bhí sé ar tí an t-uaillmhianach pósadh leis an spéir. En: He managed to escape from the path and was about to ambitiously marry the sky.

Ga: Is gearr go raibh an ghrian imithe, agus tháinig scamaill dhubh isteach ar feadh an foiréigin. En: Before long, the sun was gone, and dark clouds rolled in with a fury.

Ga: Bhris an ghaoth níos láidre fós agus bhí an talamh ag éirí go contúirteach. En: The wind broke stronger still, and the ground was becoming dangerous.

Ga: Ach lean Cillian ar aghaidh, biorán i gcluasa in aghaidh na rabhaidh. En: But Cillian carried on, his ears pierced against the warnings.

Ga: Go tobann, tháinig buille mór óiltréan sa ghaoth. En: Suddenly, a great blast from an onrushing wind struck.

Ga: Chroith sé Cillian agus bhí sé ar tí titim. En: It shook Cillian, and he was about to fall.

Ga: "Cillian! En: "Cillian!"

Ga: " ghlaoigh Siobhán, ag bogadh go tapa. En: called Siobhán, moving quickly.

Ga: Le héirleach faiche, rug sí air agus tharraing sí ar shiúl é ón gcoisín. En: With swift reflexes, she grabbed him and pulled him away from the edge.

Ga: Bhí Cillian ag an imeall, súile leathana roinnt ama. En: Cillian stood at the edge, wide-eyed for a moment.

Ga: Ach ansin, rinne sé machnamh ar a bhfuair Siobhán isteach air agus conas a bhí sí ann dó. En: But then, he reflected on how Siobhán had gotten to him and how she had been there for him.

Ga: D’aithin sé go
