381 - We’re FINALLY Back!! + Kelly Clarkson Causes MAJOR Drama Over $15k Wooden Bird
Do We Know Them?Summary
Kelly Clarkson recently found herself at the center of a public dispute with a Brooklyn shop, Art of Play, after a visit that she described as unwelcoming. Clarkson alleged that during her visit, she was treated as if she could not afford the store's merchandise, particularly a mechanical bird named Molly, which had a price tag of $15,000. In a tweet, she expressed her frustration, comparing her experience to that of Julia Roberts' character in "Pretty Woman," suggesting she was judged based on her appearance.
The store's owners responded by clarifying that Molly was not for sale and that they had offered Clarkson a less expensive alternative. They expressed surprise at the backlash they received following her tweet, stating that they never intended to offend her and welcomed all customers, regardless of their purchasing power. The situation escalated, with Clarkson further criticizing the store's response and claiming that the conversation did not align with the owners' narrative.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many weighing in on the appropriateness of Clarkson's public criticism and the store's handling of the situation. Some comments highlighted the absurdity of the entire affair, while others criticized both parties for their responses. The store's owners, who also have a background in children's literature, have since attempted to manage the fallout, inviting Clarkson back to the shop and emphasizing their commitment to customer service.

Why were we gone so long? Because obviously Lily’s body decided it would be fun to experience shingles for the first time. Spoiler alert: it was not fun. not fun at all… 0/10 do not recommend. And while she’s not 100% back to normal and may have a squinty eye for a few episodes… she’s almost there. In addition to discussing Lily’s unfortunate health saga from the past month, we also had to discuss the topic taking over the internet … aka Kelly Clarkson’s feud with a Brooklyn business that she blasted on Twitter after she attempted to buy a $15,000 mechanical wooden bird but was allegedly denied and redirected to a cheaper option. Meanwhile, the store owners tell a different story - though at the end of the day we’re not really on either side and mainly are just confused why anyone would buy a $15k wooden bird. In today’s episode, we break down the now infamous Hyrox Race that went viral after one of the athletes had an incident during the competition and rather than excuse herself from the race, she continued on, and no one working for the competition stopped her. Then we move on to a viral TikTok turned contentious back and forth after a woman posted about finding a stitch 4 weeks after having a surgery that did not require stitches. She became more alarmed after the doctor insisted that he had not used any stitches - only to later find that he was mistaken and had simply forgot about it. In response to these TikTok’s documenting the process of her discovering all of this, she was called out by an anesthesiologist who had a big reaction to the whole situation.
