PMDD - Pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, can affect up to 20% of the female population yet very little is known about it.
Many of us can attest to PMS symptoms throughout our monthly cycles and 1 in 5 women may be experiencing hormonally driven symptoms that can seriously impact their quality of life.
I spoke with Dr Ceri Cashell, MBCHB MRCP MRCGP FRACGP, GP Principal (Avalon Family Medical Practice) in Australia about PMDD.
The questions I asked her:
1. What is PMDD and how is it diagnosed?
2. When it comes to menopause, how does PMDD affect women?
3. What are your top recommendations to support women who might be struggling with PMDD and in menopause?
I hope this episode helps someone looking for answers.
