It took an accurate replay review, but the Milwaukee Brewers did indeed take a thrilling Game 1 of the World Series from the Tampa Bay Rays. Christian Yelich got the triple early that put the Brewers on the board and Jacob Misiorowski threw gas. But Nick Martinez held his own and Jonathan Aranda got on base 4 times.
The Milwaukee Brewers' formula just keeps working as they take World Series Game 1 in dramatic fashion over the Tampa Bay Rays. Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Willson Contreras sparked a two-run rally in the first inning, Jacob Misiorowski pitched five strong innings, and the Brewers' bullpen—led yet again by Abner Uribe, Aaron Ashby, and Trevor Megill—covered the final four innings in the pivotal win. The Rays made things very interesting in the top of the 9th, particularly after a would-be game-ending double play was overturned after replay review, but the Brewers ultimately held on to win. In game two, Rays ace Drew Rasmussen takes the mound, and he'll be opposed by Brewers No. 2 Logan Henderson.

Brett Chancey and Mike Stanton break down the strengths, vulnerabilities, and unique approaches of both pitching staffs, spotlighting Aaron Ashby’s electric relief work and Kevin Cash’s selective “circle of trust” bullpen strategy. This is a dream World Series match up. The Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays colliding in the World Series is easily the most interesting match up of teams since the Cubs played Cleveland in 2016. In the last 100 years, it is the second time two franchises who have never won will face off.
