More from That Was Pretty Scary
Before Blair Witch was fooling audiences with found footage, the BBC did it in 1992 with Ghostwatch. This British gem is one that you may have missed and one you definitely need to check out. This weeks movie was selected by TWPS listener Kim the Horror Fanatic (who is the reason we have the name 'Scaries' for our TWPS community).
JLB is joined by SARAH NICKLIN and going back to the year 1987 with The Monster Squad! Today's TWPS Listener Pick was chosen by Brook4tini4real.
Today's listener pick is courtesy of Ellie Quinn and Laura Daly. Thanks to them we head back to Woodsboro by way of Hollywood and compare the reception of Scream 3 back in 2000 vs now. JLB also unwraps all of the messages that are present in this underrated threequel.
JLB revisits the Oscar winning movie The Silence of the Lambs; he unwraps all of themes and talks about how the movie really is a slasher wearing the skin of a prestige crime thriller.
JLB gets more insight into the once forgotten gem from 1989 BLADES when he speaks to THOMAS RONDINELLA (writer/director/producer) and co-writer/producer WILLIAM PACE. The two talk about writing the script in 9 days, all of the challenges with production and the renaissance it has gotten recently.
