Show Notes
In this episode of Wolfie's World, I sit down with Emory, a close friend, trail running enthusiast and co-founder of Hyperlyte Liquid Performance. We discuss the evolution of trail running media, the importance of storytelling over breaking news, and the unique backgrounds of trail athletes. Emory emphasizes the need for balance in the sport, particularly as it becomes more internationalized, and the impact of brands on athlete narratives. We also explore the Golden Ticket series and the importance of creating a strong fan base through relatable stories and experiences. In this one we strive to pay respect to the trail media torch bearers - while also providing an honest response to what we're seeing emerge in 2026. Ultimately we bring it full circle back to the 95 and what it means to Emory. I had blast with Emory and look forward to future episodes together.

Focusing on Finn's attempt to prevent Mike McKnight's access to race TOR, their attempt to wipe away his 2026 results and right to continue earning a living from the sport. What are the broader implications for the sport's integrity and community values? The 95 is a diverse group with diverse opinions, morales, principles, world views and how/when to seek justice. We celebrate the fullness of the 95! We believe speaking about differences in good faith conversation is the way forward. Taking covert action and trying to weaponize your platform to destroy a man's livelihood and access to a sport void of any real regulations is not the response the 95 supports. It's not the culture or community trail runners embody. Let us know in the comments where you land and let's keep the conversation moving forward.
