Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God: Matthew 6:31-34 Explained | Sermon on the Mount

What does "seek ye first the kingdom of God" mean? In Matthew 6:31-34 Jesus answers worry about food, drink and clothing with one command: but seek. Sermon on the Mount Pt 29: Matt Hepner and TopLobsta finish Matthew 6, where everything else is just luggage for a pilgrim and a stranger.

We pick up at 2 Timothy 1:9 and the love of money in 1 Timothy 6:7-10, then Jesus' easy yoke in Matthew 11:28-30. Matthew 6:33 is the answer to the worry: why God hides himself (Isaiah 45:15), why it is the glory of God to conceal a thing (Proverbs 25:2), and why he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Then Simeon and Anna in Luke 2, take no thought for the morrow (Matthew 6:34), "is not the life more?", life as a vapour (James 4:14), pilgrims and strangers (1 Peter 2:11, Hebrews 11:13-16) and teach us to number our days (Psalm 90:12). Next, the series moves into Matthew 7.
