During the summer of 1882 Ireland was in the midst of the Land Wars, a sometimes violent era that left behind many unsolved murders. One such murder involved the publicly hated land agent John Henry Blake. Blake became the face of a despised system, that allowed absentee landlords to hide in Britain and continue to collect millions of pounds from Irish land and farmers. Despite claiming plenty of money for himself through this system, it ultimately left a target on Blake's back. And coupled with his slack attitude to security Blake became a sitting duck in the most volatile region on the Island of Ireland. If you like what we do please feel free to leave us a review/rating.
