Catching Evil

The Friday the Thirteenth Reckoning

Catching Evil

Show Notes

Serial killer Christopher Wilder was ten minutes from the Canadian border. If the passenger door of his stolen car had been unlocked, he would have made it.

This is the inside story of Friday the 13th, 1984 — the day the biggest manhunt in American history ended on the forecourt of a small-town gas station, and the two off-duty troopers who did what the FBI couldn't. We walk the road he drove. We stand on the spot where he died. We talk to the photographer who captured it all.

The day Christopher Wilder died, the families of the women he took thought they would finally get their answers.

They didn't.

The chase ended that afternoon. The story didn't. And what we have uncovered since is about to change everything.

No one should be in a grave without a name. This is the finale — and it is full of breaking news. A listener tip connects Wilder to the Tyre Murders: dozens of young women lured from car parks across five states, years before anyone was counting. We name five new victims. We reveal the pattern hidden in 3,500 classified ads — every gap, a girl. And Ellery Jane Doe, murdered and nameless for decades, may be about to get her name back. The official count said nine. The evidence now says Bundy territory — and beyond. We end the only way we could: with every victim, name by name. Every one of them was a person. Every one of them was loved. Follow the show — because this isn't over. It's unfinished business.
