The Chair That Walked Away From the Fire: Millhaven's Secret
Danger hides in quiet details: a wooden chair stood upright and unburned on the sidewalk as Millhaven town hall burned on July 14, 1989, and this same chair appears in records tied to two earlier 19th-century blazes - so who moved it, and why does it recur across generations? Discover how ledger books, church archives, and an unpublished memoir point to a repeating, inexplicable object at the center of three town hall fires.
In this episode, we present the assembled accounts, archival discoveries, and witness statements that trace the chair’s appearances from 1891 to 1989, and we follow the archivist who named and documented the pattern - what does that pattern suggest about Millhaven's institutional memory?
