In September 1982, seven people around Chicago suddenly died after taking Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules that had been secretly filled with cyanide. The killer was never caught, and more than four decades later, the Chicago Tylenol Murders remain one of America's most infamous unsolved crimes. Then, only a few months after the poisonings, a mysterious man was found dead from cyanide inside a Catholic church in Boise, Idaho. He carried no identification, left behind $1,900 and a note signed with a fake name, and successfully hid his identity for more than 40 years. He became known as the Unknown Wanderer. Now, investigators have finally identified him as Dr. Mathew Francis Betkouski, an organic chemist whose history with cyanide, pharmaceuticals and the Chicago area has raised new questions about whether the two mysteries could somehow be connected.
